I
always like to make sure there is plenty of time to pay attention
to
the details when designing an invitation or announcement. The process
is
best begun as soon as possible, but as a rule of thumb, I like
to suggest
four months for designing and one month for production. This helps
avoid
any last minute changes that can then lead to last minute stress.
No one needs
stress.
Of course,
this timeline is a best-case scenario and I'm happy to meet with
you at any point in the planning process–early
on or at the eleventh hour.
Unfortunately,
custom invitations don’t
come with a set price. I factor in
everything–the paper,
the printing, the quantity, etc. to get your final numbers.
I can,
however, give you a fabulous design within any
budget. The best way
to see where your invitations fall within
your total budget is to set up an appointment, have a chat and
do some old fashioned number crunching.
_________
We'll set up
a time to just talk about all your details (via email, phone
or in person)–your ideas, colors, themes, likes, dislikes–we'll
cover just
about everything but your shoe size.
Once I have
some ideas on paper, I start working up a quote with
a detailed description of what we chatted about. If all looks
good
and well, I take a deposit and work up a digital sample.
At this
point, you will have fallen in love with a combination of paper,
ribbon and scripted fonts. We'll
tweek and fine-tune and once the design
is approved, production
begins!
Being a visual
person myself, I know sometimes it can be hard to "see"
the final
piece based upon a 2-D mock up–especially when it comes to
exact colors and textures.
No problem–I can send you a printed sample*
of your invitation or
announcement for a small fee.
Final payment
is made right before the hand-off. From there, we can
discuss
any additional pieces you might need for your event
(programs, seating chart or placecards, thank you notes-
anything!)
and ask that you remember me in the future for your other
paper needs!
*Your
exact materials will be based upon availability. In most cases,
I simply do not
have the color you are requesting. If this is
the case, I will substitute another color and
send a sample of
the actual color for you to review. |
